- Diverse Leaders Firms with management representation that closely mirrors U.S. demographics are sending a clear message that anyone can reach the leadership ranks.“When people of color are looking for work, they look for companies that show signs of shared leadership,” Howard University’s Ross contends.
- Career Advocates Senior members must not only mentor new employees, they also need to lobby on their behalf to ensure that they are promoted to the next level.
- Cultural Competency Training “To be successful in the financial-services profession, you have to be comfortable talking to clients of different ethnicities and cultures and handling their needs,” explains Howard University’s Ross.
- Professional-Development Programs These help new recruits overcome biases and understand the nuances of their organizations during the critical first three years in the business.
